Which color scheme do you prefer?

I'm having trouble picking a color scheme for these heroic "Astro Guards" I've been working on for Star Schlock. I knocked together some quick color studies to compare them, but still can't settle on one.  Do you have a preference?

Thanks for helping me decide!

  1. 3, but with white pauldrons (coloured trim?) and helmet

    1. Thanks Tamsin! I agree, the stark white armor with colored trim would look sharp. :)

  2. 7 is my favorite, although without the trim. I think if you go with larger red markings (squad, army, whatever) it will come out more clearly on the table top.

    1. Thanks 'packer! I agree, the amount of trim color would drastically change how this scheme feels. I'll need to play around with the colors once I get them on the mini.

  3. I like 3, as they kind of remind me of the Bespin Cloud Car Pilots from Empire, who had a cool uniform (and action figure) but were sadly under-utilised in the movie. I'd probably paint them in a colour scheme inspired by that, but that's me.

    1. The Bespin Cloud Guards! Yes! I forgot about those guys, but they were undoubtedly a subconscious influence on this sculpt. I'll have to try a version with their weird gray, yellow, salmon/orange scheme.

  4. My personal choice would be for 1 or 3. Makes me think of guards !

    1. Thanks Dannoc! #3 seems to be pulling ahead amongst all the polls I've run.

  5. Definitely 3. The colours are complementary, that's why. I use a colour wheel these days to choose my SF colour schemes. I can recommend that.
